Irk Valley Community School

The importance of valuing others, listening to different viewpoints, taking care of belongings, manners, appreciating the diversity which exists in our community and beyond

The determination to reach the highest standards, every day.

The desire to grow and develop, achieving the best for ourselves and each other.

The knowledge that working with others, asking for help when needed and supporting others to develop are the foundations of growth.

The importance of joy in what we do, discovering our strengths and using them.

Pupil Safety Team

Meet the Safety Team

Our job in school is to:

  • to check that children are behaving in a safe way around school
  • to report anything we see that might be a hazard
  • to teach children about keeping themselves safe

Here are some of the things we have been doing.

We helped with a fire drill at school and them we went to each class to talk to the children about how to evacuate the school safely in case of fire.
We go out on duty every lunchtime in the playground and the dining room. We encourage children to behave safely. We give out stickers for super safe behaviour.
This term we are making a set of posters and a special display to promote safe behaviour around school. We are also going to write an article about safety in school for the school newsletter.
