‘Welcome to our valley. We are proud to grow here together’

SEND and Inclusion

Welcome to our school!

Our school is a kind school. We welcome and celebrate all children on their learning journey.

We know that parents of children with additional needs have to fight for what their child needs. We want to support you, listen to you and work with you to make sure we help your child learn and grow in every way to meet their potential.

My name is Lydia Gibbons and I am our school SENCO. Parents can contact me anytime on my school email address, via phone or by asking for an appointment at the school office and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

School life is busy here and we work hard to make sure all children can learn in all areas of the curriculum. Some of our pupils are supported with physical disabilities through specialist equipment and use of our hygiene suite. Other children may need a quieter space to work or symbols to better help them understand the structure of the day. Whatever your child may need, we are here to support.

We work with other professionals such as our speech therapist, educational psychologist, physio and outreach teams to learn and grow from their specialist input. Staff have specialist training in special educational needs and we see this as part of ongoing growth.

We will work hard with you to understand your child's specific needs and we will listen to you as the person or people who know your child best.

No question is ever silly- please come and ask.

Our school SENCO is Miss Lydia Gibbons.  Our Governor with responsibility for SEND is Jane Parkinson.

Our school Inclusion lead is Ms Sharon Owen.
