Summer 1 - Romans in Britain

What are we learning about?

This half term, children will place some historical periods in a chronological order, use historic terms relating to the period of study, describe the Roman Empire and its impact on Britain, describe significant historical events people and places in the time period, understand that sources can contradict each other,  use sources of information in ways that go beyond simple observations to answer questions about the past and use a variety of resources to find out about aspects of life in the past. Children will then communicate their knowledge in an organised and structured way, using appropriate terminology and oracy skills.
