In KS1 we encourage the children to use one of following strategies to help them overcome any tricky words whilst reading:

1. Use our phonics to help segment and blend.

2. Break the word up using our hands.

3. Re-read the word again and again.

4. Keep reading and come back to the word.

5. Look at the pictures/ illustrations to help.
