Summer 2

English & Reading

Next half term, we will have finished reading 'There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom' and will be starting a new class book, 'Pig Heart Boy.' Our writing will link to both books this half term as we dive into diary and one sided argument writing. All of this will link to our oracy skills as we discuss some of the themes from the books.

Summer 1

English

We are continuing our fantastic shakepeare Project run by North West Drama.  The focus of the learning will be the play 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'.  We will be exploring the play in detail and performing key scenes.  We will be writing news reports, character descriptions, play scripts and more.  At the end of the project, we will be performing the play at the Royal Exchange Theatre which will be amazing (covid restrictions permitting).

We are learning about fractions, decimals, percentages position and movement.

Science

We are learning about reversible and irriversable changes.  

 

A change is called irreversible if it cannot be changed back again.

In an irreversible change, new materials are always formed. Sometimes these new materials are useful to us.

We are taking part in the Happy Place Project which focuses on a picture book entitled 'The Lumberjack's Beard' by Duncan Beedie. The theme of the learning is finding your happy place.
