We are learning to tell the time during the start of the summer term. These are some of the important things we need to know about time by the end of Year 3:
To tell and write the time from an analogue clock, including using Roman numerals from I to XII, and 12-hour and 24-hour clocks.
estimate and read time to the nearest minute.
record and compare time in terms of seconds, minutes and hours.
use vocabulary such as o’clock, am/pm, morning, afternoon, noon and midnight.

Spring Term 2
We are taking part in the Happy Place Project which focuses on a picture book entitled 'The Lumberjack's Beard' by Duncan Beedie. The theme of the learning is finding your happy place. We will be writing persuasive pamphlets and letters of complaint. Follow the links below for lessons on these writing styles.

We are also using the book 'Heidi' by Johanna Spyri to help us write a narrative and character/setting descriptions.
For the rest of spring term and the start of summer term, we are learning to: tell the time using 'a.m.' and 'p.m.', tell the time to the minute, using analogue and digital time and telling time by using both the minute and hour hands. We will learn to use the 24-hour clock and clocks using roman numerals. After this, we are measuring and comparing time in seconds, hours and minutes.

In art we are creating some paintings in the style of the artist Paul Klee. He like to mix different colours and use lots of different shapes in his art.
