School Events
- Dining Room Upgrade
Children wanted to improve the dining room. The team gained pupil voice on likes and dislikes in the dining room. Changes to our dining room were then made.
We have also recently changed our school lunches so the children have super healthy choices for lunch every day.
- Multi-cultural Day
Children help to design a special multi-cultural day each year where children can dress in traditional clothes and share stories and knowledge about different cultures.
- Soccer Aid
We have a special day for Soccer Aid each year. The rights respecters designed an obstacle course for all the children in school to have a go at. The rights respecters are allowed to bring in water guns to give the children a squirt while taking part! They absolutely loved it and we raised about £500!
- Mental health week - February
Lots of activities across the school including connecting through dance and song and bingo. Each year every class takes part in lots of different activities to promote positive mental health.
- Anti Bullying Week - November
The children take part in loads of fun activities to support anti-bullying week. This week the children will learn:
- What bullying is
- How to report bullying
- How to support people who are being bullied
We also take part in Odd Socks Day to raise money for the Anti-Bullying Alliance.
Inter-School Events
We also work with other local schools to learn together and show our understanding of rights. We have created presentations about our schools and shared these. As well as this, we toured a local school going for their gold award. This gave us lots of ideas of how to promote rights for children even more.
Community Events
Not only do we intend for every child and school staff member to understand children’s rights, but we aim to help our local community understand about rights.
- Near Neighbours
The team created poems about our school and their rights, to help people learn about children's rights.
- Shoe Share
Children and local neighbours brought in unwanted shoes from home and these were collected by our Rights Respecting team and donated to Clarks. There were hundreds of pairs of shoes.
