What are we learning about?
This Term, Year 1 will learn about significant individuals who have contributed to national and international achievements. We will be delving into the lives of Amelia Earhart and The Wright brothers. Amelia Mary Earhart was an American aviation pioneer and writer. Earhart was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. The Wright brothers, Orville Wright and Wilbur Wright, were American aviation pioneers generally credited with inventing, building, and flying the world's first successful motor-operated airplane. Children will examine several resources to learn about their lives and come to an understanding of how these significant individuals made a positive contribution to society.
