What is the Wider Curriculum?

At Irk Valley, the wider curriculum refers to all the exciting learning and experiences that go beyond the core subjects of English and Maths. It includes a broad range of subjects such as personal development areas like PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic education).

The wider curriculum is designed to help children:

We also include enrichment opportunities like school trips, theme days, guest speakers, outdoor learning, clubs, and special events—all part of helping our children grow into curious, capable, and caring individuals.
