Vaccinations

Message from Manchester Health

Before the summer holiday break, we'd like to remind people to check their family vaccinations.

Infectious diseases like Hepatitis A and Measles are on the increase in this country and overseas due to a decrease in people getting vaccinated.

If you are planning to visit family in another country or go on holiday this summer, some travel vaccines are available for free from your local GP. You can also contact your GP to get up to date with your routine vaccines e.g. MMR even if you are not going away.

We have included our booklet that shows which vaccinations can be given during infant and school years, and what they protect people from.

There is more information in the booklet and on www.nhs.uk/vaccinations.  More information on travel vaccines can be found on The essential travel checklist to keep you and your family healthy on holiday – UK Health Security Agency.
