All about your teacher.

Hello! 

I'm Mr Thomas and I am so pleased I have the opportunity to teach your child this year. This is my second year teaching year 5 and I am hope your son or daughter is looking forward to this year as much as I am. I can't wait.

Here's a little more about me...

I have been a teacher at Irk Valley for 5 years and have  worked in Year 6 during that time. I have loved every minute of my time here - it really is the best job in the world! When I'm not in school, I enjoy going to the gym, cycling, playing cricket (500 runs at an average of 49.9 so far this season!), coaching junior teams and travel.

I have been a teacher for 28 years now, mainly in high schools, and have the distinction of having taught every year group from nursery all the way to year 11 and A levels!

This year is going to be a great year. We will be learning lots of new things, revising things we learnt in Year 3, 4 and of course having lots of fun (Shakespeare production and other exciting trips). My main aim, as 5T's teacher, is to ensure your child is safe, happy and makes excellent progress at school. 

Just a reminder that the school gates open at 8.45am in the morning to drop-off your child, and 3.20pm in the afternoon to collect your child.  Registration in class is at 8.50am in the morning.
