How have toys changed?

What are we learning about?

This term, year 1 pupils will be Historians, studying how toys have changed. Our history work will focus on developing an understanding of the past, Victorian times, and old and new toys.  They will compare old and new toys and talk about how technology has developed to create more advanced toys. We will learn about the toy timeline and how the materials and production of toys have changed. The children are encouraged to bring in their favourite toys to show their friends and explain why it is so special to them. We've also asked some of the staff to bring in toys from their childhood to present to pupils. To extend their knowledge, children will attend a toy workshop, view toy artefacts, and play some vintage games!
