Our learning journey in photos this week...

Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebrations.

On the final day of the term we celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.  The children were invited to wear red, white and blue clothing or as a king or queen.

Throughout the day as a school we were learning about Queen Elizabeth's reign.

Year 1 focused on the events between 2000 and 2009, during this period Manchester held the Commonwealth Games in 2002 and the Queen came to officially open the games at the stadium.  We learnt what the commonwealth is and even came up with a song to share with the other classes in our whole school assembly that afternoon.

We also got crafty by creating our own finger print Union Jack flags and commonwealth games medals.
