Teaching and Learning

For Children in Years 1-6

Work will be set each day.

For children in Years 3-6, the equivalent of 4 hours work will be set.

For children in Years 1 and 2, the equivalent of 3 hours will be set every day.

The weekly/ daily timetable will set out what this learning will be.

It will include English and Maths as well as other subjects through the week in line with what the children would be learning if they were in school.

All learning tasks set will be supported by live or recorded teaching from school staff or other sources e.g. Oak Academy that will provide teaching for the lessons.

Links to other relevant learning material e.g. videos, clips, internet links may be provided to support the learning.

The teacher will meet with all the children on a Google Meet each day to explain the work and to check in with the children.

A list of other self-sustaining learning they could do e.g. Reading Eggs, TT Rock Stars, will also be provided to allow the children to undertake further learning.

 

For children in Early Years:

Work will be uploaded to Tapestry every day:

1 x English, 1 x Maths, 1 x Phonics

Links to other relevant learning material e.g. videos, clips, internet links may be provided to support the learning.

All learning tasks set will be supported by live or recorded teaching from school staff or other sources e.g. Oak Academy that will provide teaching for the lessons.

A list of other self-sustaining learning they could do e.g. Reading Eggs, Supersonic Phonic Friends, is provided.

A story/session linked to 1 of the above lessons uploaded to Tapestry every day.

For children with SEND: Children will be contacted by the class teacher or SENCO and directed to the most appropriate online learning e.g. Reading Eggs, Lexia. A weekly timetable of activities will be provided. An additional physical activity pack will be provided if appropriate by the SENCO. The class teacher or TA will do a Google Meet to do a 20 minute activity with the child each day.

For children with no devices: Google Chromebooks will be available for children to loan on request.

  • For children with no internet access: A school place or paper work packs may be provided.

For children in Early Years:
