Working Scientifically
Y2C will be looking at life processes of plants,animals and their habitats.
While exploring and comparing differences of living,dead and things that have never been alive, they will have to identify and compare the suitability of everyday materials. They will be observing and using equipment to gather and record any data to help them with their investigations.
Handwriting
Form lower-case letters to the correct size relative to one another. Start using some of the diagonal and horizontal strokes needed to join letters and understand which letters, when adjacent to one another, are best left unjoined. Write cap letters/digits of correct size/orientation/relationship to one another & to lower case letters. Use spacing between words that reflects the size of the letters.
Music
Y2C will be taught to use their voices expressively and creatively by singing songs and specking chants and rhymes,play musical instruments while listening with concentration to a range of high- quality live and recorded music.
The children should develop an understanding of musical structures and reproducing sounds from memory.
