In October, a group of parents met at school to discuss how to help with the safety of pedestrians at drop-off and pick-up time due to the way cars are being parked.
We have formed the Safer Parking Action Group.
The purpose of the Safer Parking Action Group is to ensure that all parents and children can travel to school safely and that pedestrians can use the pavements around school, unblocked by parked cars.
The group will work to achieve this by:
• Encouraging and rewarding the healthy lifestyle choice for children and families to walk to school
• Educating parents who choose to drive and park at school, how to do this safely and with consideration for pedestrians and residents
• Speaking with individual parents to give further support and encouragement to park considerately and safely
• Working with Manchester City Council to introduce parking measures and traffic calming measures
