Here are the courses and activities we are currently running in our ‘Parent Hub’.
Monday
- English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) 9-11am
This course will help you improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in English.

Create experiments, learn about chemical reactions, create non-Newtonian fluids, make a volcano model, learn about the weather, the solar system and electricity. You don't need any knowledge about science!

Tuesday
This course will help you to develop your skills in interacting with your children. You will learn what a story sack is and how you can enjoy using it with your children.
This course will help you to understand how you can support young children to learn basic maths concepts through interactive play, which will be fun and helps to prepare them for starting school.
Wednesday
- KS1 Maths with MAES Collage 9-11am
Find out more about maths in Years 1 and two. This will enablr you to support your child.
- Confident parent, confident child 1-3pm
This course helps you build on your knowledge and skills to develop your confidence so you can support and develop your child’s self-esteem.
Thursday
A fun activity where you can meet other parents and community members and learn new sewing skills. Here you can make your own cushions, clothing, and have a chat!
Families Connect focuses on supporting parents and children to learn together. It helps parents to support their children’s learning in three key areas:
- Literacy and language development
- Numeracy
- Emotional development
The eight-week programme provides a series of activities, techniques and games that parents and carers can do with their children at home.
