VIRTUAL OPEN EVENINGS

Some local high schools are holding virtual parents evenings to show what the high school offers. This is to help with the high school application process for Y6 pupils. Please see below:

MCA | Prospective Year 7 Pupils | Thursday 8th October

MCA have arranged a virtual open evening.   Parents will need to sign up to  be involved on Thursday 8th and there will be an opportunity to ask questions.  Parents can sign up  by sending the information below to this email: virtualopenevening@mca.manchester.sch.uk

MCA Presentation for Y6 pupils

If your child is in Year 6 during 2020 - 2021, see below regarding high school admissions. 

Do you live in Manchester Local Authority?

Is your child in Year 6?

If so, you can now apply online for your child's high school place. 

 

The Secondary 2021 application round opens from Wednesday 1 July 2020 for Manchester City Council residents and for children whose date of birth falls between 01/09/2009 - 31/08/2010.

Other local authorities may open their round at a different date to Manchester.   

 

Parents can make their online application through the Citizens Portal on the Council's website: www.manchester.gov.uk/admissions

 

The national closing date for Secondary 2021 applications is Monday 2 November 2020.  

 

This year due to COVID-19, Manchester City Council have sent out the application invite letters directly to children's home addresses that come under Manchester City Council. 

 

Any children who live in another local authority will be contacted by their local authority to inform them of when and how to apply through their LA. 

 

Parents who are struggling with the online application and would like a paper application form to complete, must email to request a form: school.admissions@manchester.gov.uk

 

National Offer Day for Secondary 2021 will be 1 March 2021 for on-time applicants.   Late applicants will find out their school offer at a later date. 

 

 

Manchester City Council will send out a reminder at the end of September/beginning of October for pupils who have not yet applied.
