What Is Google Classroom?
Google Classroom enables teachers to create an online classroom area in which they can manage all the work that their students need. Documents are stored on Google Drive and can be edited in apps, such as Google Docs, Sheets, and so on.
This is one way class teachers will be setting work for their pupils.
For help with logging into Google Classroom, using the tools in Google Classroom and accessing Google Meet sessions, please watch the videos below.
Google Meet Sessions
When a class bubble is closed and the class are learning at home, the teacher will hold a daily 'Google Meet' session. The purpose of this meeting is so that teachers can 'check in' with the children, to give the children a chance to see and speak to each other, and to create a forum where children can ask the teachers questions about the work that has been set for them.
Teachers will record these sessions, therefore it is very important that parents and carers give permission (via the school office) for children to take part in these sessions.
It is also important that children and parents do not record these sessions.
If you have any further questions about Google Meet sessions, or if you have not yet given permission for your child/children to take part and you would like to, please contact the school admin team, who will advise you of the next steps.
