Class 3J are painting plastic bottles to use for their class project.
Did you know that recycling helps save the planet from things like global warming and rubbish? That's right, by recycling things such as food packages and old toys, you are reducing the amount that gets put into the rubbish bin. This a very good thing because rubbish is full of nasty bugs that spread disease and gases that increase global warming.
Fun Fact: If we took all of the U.K's rubbish and put it in its biggest lake, it would take 8 months to fill it!
Recycling means making rubbish into something new. Every time you throw something away it gets sent to a landfill. More and more rubbish is piled on top until it is too big and the landfill has to be closed.
Glass, metal and plastic are all melted down and remade into new things, but paper recycling is a little different.
Fun Fact: In 2003, recycling glass saved enough energy to launch 10 space shuttles.

We made a school equipment holder and a plant pot by reusing plastic bottles.

The battle was one of the most important battles in history and was won by the Athenians.

Take a look at our Term Project which is linked to our Ancient Greece topic. We designed our own Ancient Greece torches.
How to make an Ancient Greece torch
I got a bottle and trimmed off the end. Then I wrapped foil around it and stuck it with tape. Next, I used a template of flames using red, yellow and orange paper.
Finally, I put it all together to make a flame. Once everything is stuck together I ended up with an Ancient Greece torch.

Road Safety Day 26.11.18
Road crashes are a major cause of death and injury amongst the young, with the risk rising as children reach secondary school and gain more independence.
Danger from traffic is also a big factor in whether children and young people are able to walk and cycle to school, to the park or to see friends, and therefore their ability to be healthy and socially active.
